Teach me something- 2 Card games and a trick

This is a video that shows me teaching you how to play 2 card games and how to perform a magic trick.

Ruberto Lugo

This video is to bring in light educating people about the artist, Roberto Lugo. He is a ceramic artist who deals with issues relating to culture, race, and identity in America.

Domingo

=My interviewee is Domingo Dominguez, my oldest sibling. I chose them because I look up to them as my role model and my biggest inspiration in the art field. Although they do not make art as often anymore, they still carry an artist's open-mindedness and identity. In the interview, they expressed a huge focus on change and how they live. They view art as a butterfly. Meaning that art is explorative, free, and full of change, but it takes growth to find it. They relate this to art because they felt that art has a huge factor that involves us being true to ourselves and being open to change in art while still acknowledging your path that helped to where you are. In a final question I gave out, I asked, "What would you tell little Domingo to advise on their art?". Domingo responded, "I wouldn't have said anything because it's more beautiful to find a journey in your art than say something. I wouldn't want to give them the answer but to tell them that it gets better along the way."
Although we change physically and mentally as we grow older, it never meant that our youth in the past has died or was unimpressive compared to our current self. Instead, it lives with us, and we have always been connected with our history because it makes us who we are now and who we will be.

The art style in the image is my best impression of my art style and Domingos art style together.

Flipbook- Wake up Andres!

This video is a small flipbook animation I used on my phone through a drawing app and a video editor app. The video illustrates how I used to be in high school. I would always be tired and be very sleepy, but people tried their best to try to wake me up.

Artist Ritual- Left Over Glass

This video is to go over the ritual I have had over the past 4 years with collecting glass and applying it in my ceramic work.  All the glass that I use are from objects that I have used or found as an attempt to repurpose the material as an application to my work.

Clinical Observation at Sheridan Elementary School

I was honored to take on clinical hours to observe the school of Sheridan Elementary school. I was paired up with the art teacher Mrs.Bussann who gave me greater tips and advice on how to be a future art educator. At Sheridan, I was able to assist Mrs.Bussann and even the opportunity to teach the class on my last day. I learned a lot from Mrs.Bussian from her attentiveness to children's safety,  mental health, and her compassion for her students overall.
